Brief history:

OJSC “Confectionary Concern Babayevsky” is the oldest confectionary factory in Russia that was founded in 1804. It was known in Russia and abroad as “Association of Abrikosov’s sons” starting from 1880. The factory is a laureate of various All-Russian exhibitions and was called “Purveyor of his imperial majesty Court” from 1899. Association’s turnover amounted to 2,5 million rubles in 1990. It was renamed into “Babaev Confectionary factory” in 1922 and became the principle supplier of toffee candies, caramel and fruit drops. The factory produced chocolate, chocolate candies and convenience foods after the World War II. Today, “Confectionary Concern Babayevsky” is a member of the leading Russian Holding - the United Confectionary Manufacturers management company.

Awards and achievements:

High quality of the concern’s products is acknowledged by numerous prizes and awards from various exhibitions and contests. For instance, the factory was named “Best Russian enterprise” by the Industrial workers Union and Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 1997 and in 2000. The concern received the “Golden bowl” prize in Geneva in 1997 for high quality of its products and won in 18 categories of the contest “100 best goods of Russia” in 1998. The enterprise won gold medals during “World Food”, “Prodexpo” and other exhibitions in 1999, 2000 and 2001. OJSC “Confectionary Concern Babayevsky” was granted the high award “Russia’s national Olympus” in 2003.
